Senior Youth Club
This drop in youth club is for young people in school years 9, 10 and 11. Come in and try your hand at cooking a healthy meal or play on the pool table, table tennis or table football. Why not test you hand to eye co-ordination with the interactive X-box or Wii. Relax and chat whilst making something creative or talk to a youth worker about any issue that concerns you. Why not gain a certificate in kayaking or baby sitting. Want to go away for the weekend and try new and exciting activities? Then you can with the youth service. All this plus much much more.
AND NOW… ALL THE ABOVE BUT SPECIFICALLY FOR YEAR 8 AND 9 STUDENTS!!
Wednesdays 7 to 9pm
You can now be part of youth club if you are in year 8. Wednesday evenings from 7pm – 9pm we run a youth club just for year 8 and 9 students. All of the activities that the Monday club offers but just for you, your friends and other young people of your age.
Which Way?
Are you looking to get a job, apprenticeship or move on to college or training? Our youth workers can help support you in composing a Curriculum Vitae (C.V), interview skills and tips, making phone calls and help with application forms. Times can be flexible so contact the centre to find out more. No cost.
About us – Woodley Airfield Youth Centre is a purpose built youth centre on the edge of Sandford Park in Hurricane Way. The centre is operated by Wokingham Borough Youth Service.
Staff - All the youth workers are trained, many are qualified and all are experienced in working with young people of teenage years. They are supervised by professionally qualified youth workers and all are given a high level of Safeguarding Children Training. All are subject to an enhanced CRB check. Youth workers can support young people through all the difficult issues they face in life as well as challenge them to reach their potential through a varied range of exciting and exhilarating activities.
Transport –when provided, transportation is with modern minibuses that are equipped with 3 point seat belts and regularly checked and monitored for damage or faults.
Safety – all of our activities are risk assessed. Where we are visiting places or using other specialists, their safety procedures are also checked by us.
